Description

Make, formerly Integromat, connects apps and systems through a visual editor in which users build data flows between individual modules by drag and drop. Unlike simpler automation tools, Make offers native support for loops, branching and error handling, along with connections to more than 2,000 apps as well as HTTP and webhook modules for custom interfaces.

For AI-supported workflows, modules from OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral and Google AI can be integrated directly, complemented by AI Agents that can run workflows independently, and an AI Scenario Builder that generates scenarios from text prompts. Observability is covered through logs, dry runs and a replay function.

The learning curve is steeper than with Zapier, but according to the source this pays off quickly for more complex processes. Billing is based on operations, meaning module executions, with an entry-level Core plan starting at around 9 euros per month. Error handling has to be set up actively, otherwise a workflow can fail silently.

Create a new scenario and choose a trigger, for example a webhook or an app event.
Connect modules, set up the data mapping and activate the scenario.

Tips

Start simple, with one trigger and two actions, then expand step by step.
Configure error handlers explicitly, for example with resume, break or rollback.
Use data stores for state between scenarios, as an alternative to an external database.
Use scenario templates from the community as a starting point.
For critical processes, first test a low-cost blueprint in a sandbox before moving it to production.
