Description

Gumloop is often described as an automation tool for AI workflows, but it is built from the ground up differently from classic automators such as Zapier or Make: LLM nodes (GPT, Claude, Perplexity) are first-class building blocks, not a bolted-on feature. Browser automation and web scraping are also part of the core feature set, not an add-on integration.

Workflows are assembled from triggers, LLM nodes and actions, plus a built-in table database for workflow state, so no external database is required. Ready-made community templates help with getting started, for example company research from a URL. Batch processing lets you run larger volumes of entries, such as leads, through a workflow in parallel.

The learning curve sits between Zapier and Make: simpler than Make for AI-heavy processes, but steeper than Zapier for pure app-to-app integrations. Anyone who mainly needs classic software integrations without an AI component often gets there faster with Zapier.

Learning curve Getting started is steeper than with Zapier, but simpler than Make for AI-heavy processes.
GDPR As a US-based tool, GDPR compliance for processing DE/EU data should be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Performance Workflows with a high share of browser actions can take noticeable time to run.
Scraping ethics Scraping needs to respect robots.txt and rate limits, otherwise IP blocks are a risk.

Start a template, for example "Research Company from URL", which runs without further adjustment.
For custom workflows, assemble triggers, LLM nodes and actions.

Tips

Use existing templates as a starting point instead of building workflows from zero.
For larger batches, keep an eye on the rate limits of the LLM APIs in use.
Use the browser agent selectively, it is more resource-intensive and error-prone than pure LLM nodes.
Define the output format, for example as a JSON schema, early to keep pipelines consistent.
Gumloop's Discord channel offers further, more advanced workflow examples from the community.
