Description
Meetily transcribes meetings locally through Parakeet or Whisper, including speaker recognition, and summarizes them through Ollama. Processing is built on Rust and runs without any cloud connection. The tool works with common video conferencing platforms such as Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Slack Huddles and Webex, and is available as open source under the MIT license.
For summarization you can choose between local Ollama and optional cloud models such as Claude, Groq or OpenRouter, or your own OpenAI compatible endpoint, while the actual transcription stays local. As the community edition of a comparatively young project, its maturity and platform coverage are not at the level of established cloud providers such as Fireflies or Otter, and local processing also requires sufficient compute power on your own device.
For teams and individuals who value confidentiality more than the convenience of a fully managed cloud solution, Meetily is a serious alternative in the meeting assistant space.
