Description
Fathom is an AI-powered meeting assistant that records calls, transcribes them, and automatically generates a summary along with action items. For recording, Fathom offers either a bot that joins the call, or bot-free recording, which the provider labels as beta, so no visible notetaker appears in the meeting. Through the Ask Fathom feature, a single call, or in higher plans the entire archive of team meetings, can be queried like a database, including automatically generated answers. Notes, insights, and action items also sync automatically with tools such as Slack, Salesforce, HubSpot, Notion, and Asana.
Fathom requires a person to actively join a meeting in which either a bot is admitted or bot-free recording is started. How deeply Fathom integrates into existing processes also depends on the chosen plan: CRM field sync, coaching metrics with AI scorecards, an account-wide Ask Fathom search across all team calls, and security features such as single sign-on and Okta SCIM provisioning are reserved for the upper, paid tiers.
Within the field of meeting notetaking tools, Fathom positions itself through the combination of a permanently free basic plan, direct CRM integration for sales teams, and a growing number of use cases, from product and engineering syncs to recruiting interviews and customer success conversations. Anyone who only needs simple transcription without CRM integration, coaching, or team-wide search may get by with a leaner note-taking tool. Anyone who wants to actively feed meeting data into sales, support, or product processes will find in Fathom a tool built exactly for that, with CRM sync, Deal View, and Ask Fathom.
