Description
Google Search Console shows how a website appears in Google Search: clicks, impressions, average position, and click-through rate, broken down by query, page, country, device, and search type, including visibility in AI Overviews and AI Mode. A new, language-driven configuration in the Performance report lets you describe filters and comparisons in natural language instead of clicking them together manually. Alongside this come reports on Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, structured data, and security issues.
On the technical side, the tool provides index coverage reports for tracking down crawling and indexing issues, a URL inspection tool for individual pages, and sitemap submission and monitoring. The Search Console API allows this data to be queried programmatically, for example to automatically detect quick-win combinations of page and query with a low click-through rate. Search Console retains data for 16 months.
The honest limit: Search Console shows data exclusively for your own property, no competitor data and no classic keyword research beyond your own domain. As a foundation for technical SEO and monitoring your own search visibility it is indispensable, but competitive analysis and backlink research require additional SEO suites.
