    Description

    Strengths

One system for marketing and sales
Email, SMS, WhatsApp and a simple CRM with a deal pipeline run in a single interface instead of separate tools.
    Billing by sending volume
Pricing follows monthly email volume rather than contact count, so every plan allows unlimited stored contacts.
    Low barrier to entry
A free plan with a daily sending quota allows a productive start without upfront investment.
    European provider
The EU origin appeals to teams that prefer a European provider over US alternatives for data protection reasons.
    Built-in sales pipeline
A visual Kanban pipeline links deals directly to contacts and campaigns without a separate CRM system.

    Assessment

    AI features

    • Aura as assistant The AI assistant Aura creates a complete campaign draft from a prompt or a URL, including layout, copy, subject line and preview text.
    • Subject line generator Aura suggests alternative subject lines when your own wording stalls.
    • Text tools Adjusting tone, shortening or rewriting copy, and automatic spelling and grammar correction are part of the feature set.
    • Predictive sending An AI feature sets the send time individually per recipient to increase open probability.
    • Predictive lead scoring In the AI Lab, a model scores contacts by past engagement with a conversion probability, so sales teams can prioritize leads.

    Suitable for

    • Small and mid-sized businesses and agencies that want to bundle email marketing, transactional email and a simple CRM in one tool
    • Teams with a European data protection focus that prefer an EU-based provider over US alternatives
    • Sales teams that manage contacts, deals and campaigns without a separate CRM system
    • Less suitable for Less suitable for very complex multi-channel automations or deep lead scoring, where specialized CRM systems remain superior

    Limitations and notes

    • Automation with complex logic Linear workflows such as welcome series or re-engagement campaigns work well, but heavily branched conditional logic and multi-channel orchestration reach their limits.
    • Performance on large workflows The visual workflow editor noticeably slows down on very long or complex automations.
    • Design editor The email editor works well for standard layouts but reaches its limits with highly customized or brand-specific designs.
    • Reporting depth Standard reporting covers basic metrics, but lacks the depth of dedicated analytics tools for multi-touch attribution, customer journey mapping or deep behavioral insights.

    Quick start

    1. Create an account and confirm your email address.
    2. Add your sending domain under Senders & IP > Domains and verify it via the DKIM record; propagation can take up to 72 hours.
    3. Import contacts or collect them via a form and group them into lists.
    4. Build your first campaign in the drag-and-drop editor, optionally letting Aura generate layout, copy and subject line from a prompt.
    5. Set up an automation workflow for a standard case such as a welcome series or cart abandonment.
    6. Set up the deal pipeline in the CRM if sales and marketing should run in the same system.

    Tips

    • A separate SPF setup is usually not needed with Brevo, since the envelope-from domain runs through Brevo's servers. The DKIM record is sufficient for DMARC, except with a dedicated IP.
    • Use Aura for the first draft and refine it manually afterward instead of writing from scratch.
    • Enable predictive sending so the send time is set individually per recipient instead of globally.
    • Keep automations linear. For heavily branched multi-channel logic, combine several simple workflows instead of building one complex decision tree.
    • Expect noticeable loading delays when editing large workflows, and save changes in smaller steps.
