    • Pikaswaps Swap objects or people in a video.
    • Pikadditions Insert new elements into an existing video, for example a product into a scene.
    • Pikascenes Multi-shot sequences with their own storyline from a single prompt.
    • Pika 2.2 Current model with improved motion, consistency and prompt understanding.
    • Image-to-video Animations from still images, often more reliable than text prompts alone.
    • Mobile app Native iOS and Android apps for production on the go.

    Suitable for

    • Short product or hook clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts
    • Testing quick variations of a key visual through signature effects
    • Before-and-after or story formats through Pikascenes
    • Less suitable for Not suitable for: long-form narrative work, cinematic productions, consistent branding across many clips

    Limitations and notes

    • Variable quality Results can vary considerably depending on the prompt and source image; multiple passes are normal.
    • Limited consistency For on-brand, recognisable looks, reference images in Midjourney or Runway work better.
    • Free tier is limited Only a few generations per day; the standard plan costs around EUR 9 per month for more credits.
    • Licensing Commercial use is intended from the Pro plan onward; for Pikaswaps, the rights to the reference material used should be checked beforehand.
    • Short clip length The focus is on three to ten seconds; for longer sequences, Pikascenes or subsequent editing works better.

    Quick start

    1. Open pika.art and create an account; the free tier is enough for initial tests.
    2. Upload an image, for example a product photo, or enter a text prompt.
    3. Select a Pikaffect such as Crush or generate a standard video, then try out the clip in several variations.

    Tips

    • Start with a clear key visual; Pikaffects work best on iconic subjects.
    • Pikaffects suit product videos well, the product itself becomes the hook rather than a line of text.
    • For finished social assets, combine the result with Descript or classic editing.
    • For brand consistency, use fixed visual styles as a reference and apply the effects to them.
    • For before-and-after or story formats, Pikascenes work well as an alternative to single clips.
