Description
Parloa, based in Berlin, builds AI agents for phone and chat that handle customer requests in natural language. The platform positions itself as a European alternative to US providers such as Five9 or Genesys and deliberately relies on German data sovereignty: GDPR compliance, a data processing agreement (DPA) and ISO 27001 certification are built in by default. Voice agents recognize requests even with dialects, support interruptions and back channeling during a conversation, and are managed through a central Agent Management Platform.
Its strength lies in deep backend integration: Parloa connects to SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow and custom CRM or ERP systems, and delivers analytics on call insights, routing and recurring issues. It is aimed primarily at banks, insurers, utilities and telecommunications companies that want to scale their call center with AI agents, and it supports more than 30 languages.
The honest limitation: Parloa is built for enterprise customer service, not for small teams or simple chatbot use cases. Setup and tuning require a dedicated project team, and going live typically takes several weeks to months. For a small or midsize business with a lean support team, the platform is usually oversized.
